His Word Will Not Return Void

“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. ~ Isaiah 55:10-11

Christmas marked six years since I gifted the first sets of personalized Scripture cards. I can remember being excited to give my family and friends a set of cards that spoke God’s Word directly to them because while I love to encourage people, my words can fall short, but God’s Word will always deliver. Over the past six years, I’ve been blessed to hear the stories of those who have received a set of my personalized Scripture cards and of the impact the Word has had in their lives.

In this past year as
Hide and Seek Scriptures grew, I continued to be blown away and humbled by the way God has used the cards to bring peace, hope, and joy into so many lives, both young and old alike.

~ A five-year-old boy was given a set after he had accepted Jesus into his heart. The set had both his and his little sister’s names in the verses, so upon receiving the cards he began reading them to her for her to repeat the verse back. I received a video of them, and it absolutely made my day!

~ A friend told me recently that she had purchased a set for her sister though she wasn’t sure if she would read them or not. In the last few months, her sister experienced the tragic loss of a miscarriage and shared with their mom that she had been reading the verse cards her sister had given her and how they had been helping her work through the loss.

~ One of the students in the college ministry where I serve at my church was facing potential brain surgery and I wanted to encourage her and give her words of Truth, so I sent her the Psalms set. I received multiple texts from her thanking me for the verses and even received a picture of her holding them while sitting in her hospital bed post-surgery working on building strength in her bad hand.

~ Another friend experienced loss when a colleague unexpectantly took her own life. As my friend tried to grapple with the shock and loss, she reached out and ordered a couple of sets – one for home and one for work, knowing that reading the Word could help. As I checked back in with her she shared how the verses were helping. She also ended up buying more sets to give to others impacted by the loss, including a family member grieving the loss of their loved one.

These are just a few examples of how God’s Word continues to go out and make the impact He desires for it to make. The Bible is God’s love letter to us all so I continue to pray that with each set of Hide and Seek Scriptures verse cards given, hearts will be encouraged, and people will draw closer to the God who loves them. This is more than a business, it is an opportunity to give God’s Word to people who are hurting, scared, or simply in need of being reminded of God’s presence and faithfulness, and to hopefully help them learn to “hide His Word” in their hearts.
